Dr. Beth Engelschall
I am originally from Illinois and moved to Arizona with my family in 1998. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science. I then attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado where I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May, 2017. After graduating, I returned home to Arizona to start my career as a veterinarian. I am grateful for the opportunities I had during school to travel to rural Nicaragua and Costa Rica to volunteer my services, and to volunteer at an elephant sanctuary for two weeks in Thailand.
I am passionate about strengthening the human-animal bond and building lasting relationships. While I love all aspects of veterinary medicine, my professional
interests include preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
Dr. Don Rollins
Originally a Kansas native, I moved west with my wife Nancy and our two young children in 1995 seeking the warmth and sunshine of Arizona. We started in
Tucson but soon found our way to the valley. I graduated in 1994 from Kansas State University where I did my undergraduate work as well. After originally
seeing horses, dogs and cats I settled in to only seeing the little guys (dogs and cats that is).
I have two amazing kids who have grown up and moved on to start their lives as adults. Garrett is starting school in Washington and Korynne is finishing her masters at Kansas State University.
I love the outdoors and with my wife Nancy we spend our spare time camping and explore this amazing state we live in as well.
I am a firm believer in communication and working with our clients to help keep their pets healthy. When things go awry, I try to help find a way to make them well again. I love the team we have here and I am sure you will too.
Dr. Kathryn VanSant
I am originally from Des Moines, IA. I graduated in 2009 from Iowa State University with a BS in Animal Science and a BS in Psychology. I then obtained my veterinary education at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where I graduated in 2013. After years of Iowa winters I decided to move to sunny Arizona where I began work here at White Tanks in June of 2013.
While I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine my main areas of interest lie in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as ophthalmology. I love working with animals and their owners every day and look forward to providing care and preventative medicine for all my patients.
When I am not working I enjoy outdoor activities (like hiking, fishing, and boating), reading, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy running and have participated in two half marathons with hopes to run a full someday!
Dr. Katie Cox
I was born in southern California and lived in Reno before moving to Phoenix for high school. I then spent eight years up at Washington State University receiving my Bachelor of Science and graduating from veterinary school. Go Cougs! I moved back to Phoenix after graduating to start my career closer to my family.
I love working with dogs and cats and their owners as I understand the bond that humans form with their pets. I believe that my job is as much working with people as it is with animals. My specific passions of veterinary medicine include oncology and exotics medicine.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking and camping with my husband and dogs, reading, and baking. I have a few pets that I share my home with- two border collie mixes named Snickers and Rolo, a cat named Puma, and two lovebirds.
Dr. Laural Casler
I am originally from upstate New York, but have moved around a lot with my schooling. I first moved to Arizona in 1996 for graduate school, where I studied anthropology and primate behavior. I recently returned to Arizona after spending the past several years in Baltimore, MD. I am very excited to be a part of the team here at White Tanks Animal Hospital.
I understand that your pets are important members of your family, and I will always treat them like my own. My goal is to keep them happy and healthy. When unplanned situations arise, I will work with you to strive to make them well. While I love all areas of veterinary medicine, I have strong interests in dentistry and internal medicine. I look forward to creating strong bonds with both you and your pets.
In my free time, I enjoy sharing my life with my own furry family - my dog Otis and two cats, Tinker and Petie. I love spending time with friends, hiking, gardening, and travel.
Dr. Melissa Berthiaume (Malone)
I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, and went to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, where I obtained my BS in Animal Science in 2003. I attended
veterinary school at Colorado State University and graduated in 2007. Following vet school, I returned to my hometown of Albuquerque and completed
a 1 year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at VCA Veterinary Care Referral Center. After my internship, I began working in small animal private
practice in Albuquerque for 3 years before moving to Arizona. I have been in Arizona since the summer of 2011, and I love living out here in the desert
A few of my special interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, emergency medicine, and preventative care. I also enjoy building lasting relationships with pets and their families, starting with the first visit and as they go through life. Watching the animals grow and bond with their families, and being here to help when illness or injuries arise are what make my job so rewarding!
Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy anything that involves outdoor fun, especially barbeques, swimming, camping, sand volleyball, or taking my dogs on a hike. At home I am a pet parent to two ornery cats, Baker and Nephi; and two sweet pooches named Leo and Cinder.
